SCCG Voluntary Fundraiser

If you are an experienced fundraiser, we’d really like you to join us as a volunteer as we seek to help Chinese partners support children with additional needs, children with a life limiting illness, people living with dementia and patients with a terminal diagnosis.

The SCCG works with Christian and secular partners in China, specialising in education and public health. Our main focus is on staff capacity building: equipping staff working in very specialist areas of work that are not yet fully recognised in China. The trustee group of the SCCG includes representatives from the main Christian denominations in Scotland. In addition to the trustee group, the SCCG has two very part-time posts: an ‘Advisor’ (a coordinating & development role) working 40 hours a month and a Website & Publicity Officer which is 12 hours a month.

We are a small charity, funded entirely by grants and individual giving. We have been fortunate to have received regular funding from the Barbour Trust and The Pollock Memorial Missionary Trust over a number of years, plus support from individual denominations, and recently a grant from The Souter Charitable Trust.

The SCCG is now looking for an experienced fundraiser, who has a proven track record in raising funds via Trusts and Foundations, to build on this. If you are interested in the work of the SCCG and this role, we’d love to hear from you. Applicants do not need to be Christian but we would expect the person to be in sympathy with the aims of the SCCG.
